an average sunday morning

I made this for a talent show at our church.  Basically the concept was it takes talent to get to church on sunday morning.  hence…

Trike-a-thon Day

Here are some photos of Stella’s glorious Tuesday at the Trike-a-thon.  The first pic is pre-helmet when she proudly wore her Cubs hat, the second is mid-ride when Stella and Ella stopped to ring their bells.  I was hoping to do a better job of capturing the day on film for everyone so you can see where your money went, but as I had to push and steer Stella while holding Sasha, I didn’t get to take very many pictures.  This is the best I got!

Stella completed a whopping 3 laps before she gave in to the temptation of the nearby playground.  It was very cute seeing all the little ones try to manuever around the circle.  The boys were way better than the girls, and the older kids were way better than Stella’s class, with the exception of Clark who powered through 36 laps before retiring.

So thank you for your support.  I need to turn in the money next week so if you haven’t already done so, please send your checks payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Thanks!

Give her a shot of cortisone, and send her back out on the field

Stella was really, really excited about going to the Cubs/Rockies game last night.

But, alas, on the way to the game she fell off the stroller at the train station, smashing her hands against the asphalt and tearing a middle fingernail plumb off. It was bloody. And again, I’ll spare you those photos.

She was a trooper, though. We took her to the urgent care and she got it cleaned up and bandaged (in Cubbie blue), and then we were off to the game to watch innings 5-9.

The game went into extras, but both girls had had enough when the hot dogs and chocolate ran out.

Why did we take pictures at the doctor’s office and on the train but not at the game?

I have no idea.

lennon’s new room

lennon got a new room today

this was the concept…

and this was the result…

While daddy’s away, the girls will play!

I have a friend who, when she was in high school, was allowed to watch An Officer and a Gentleman with her mom whenever her dad was away on business.  Fortunately, our girls care nothing for a young Richard Gere in uniform.  But we had our own brand of fun on bath night, while Chris is working up in Breckenridge this week…

Twinkletoes love the new color

Stella has worn nailpolish before, but only a very light pink.  I can’t even describe how VERY excited she is about this bolder color.

And check out the beautifully blown-dry hair!

We miss you, Daddy!  See you tonight!

talent show astounding feat #1

the 1st annual tomeo talent show…

Sound your flugelhorn, for it is time for the first annual tomeo talent show.

I should be sleeping, but I just got an idea.  Take a video of yourself or someone else in your immediate family performing an astounding feat of daring, courage, intelligence or cute-osity and post it to this blog with the title “talent show astounding feat #.” Replace “#” with an actual number.  The best thing to do is to look at the astounding feat that was posted before yours, add 1 and use that sum as the number of your astounding feat.  If you need help with how to post a video, let me know, I will coach you through it.  The deadline for the videos will be May 11 which gives you exactly one month to plan, prepare and produce the video of your amazing talent… Only one entry per person and one astounding feat per entry.  So make it count…

Let’s show the world how talented the tomeos can be!
